The Pet-box canine transport trailer range comes in two complementary dimensions: a finish (Premium or Economy) and a capacity (3, 4, or 6 crates). Understanding these two axes helps you choose the trailer truly suited to your use, without paying for superfluous equipment or ending up cramped.
A shared construction, a guarantee of safety
Whatever the version, all Pet-box trailers share the same sturdy, insulating base: 24 mm isothermal fiberglass walls (fiberglass – plywood – foam – fiberglass structure), a reinforced floor, reinforced central partitions, an anodized aluminum frame, stainless steel hinges and latches, lockable exterior doors with ventilation grilles, and a lift-up roof offering storage space, a control panel, lighting, ventilation, and a USB port. This shared base guarantees the dogs' safety and comfort across all versions.
Premium or Economy: the equipment difference
The distinction isn't about the sturdiness of the crate, which is identical, but about the equipment level:
- The Premium finish is designed for intensive use and maximum autonomy: 150 W solar system, powerful electric fan (530 m³/h) with speed control, 74 Ah battery, LED lighting in the crates and storage areas, 14-inch alloy wheels, aluminum mudguards and steps, front storage compartment with LED lighting.
- The Economy finish keeps the same insulated, secure crate, with essential equipment: solar-powered ventilation, LED signal lighting, 13-inch steel wheels, plastic mudguards. It's the sensible choice for more occasional use or a controlled budget.
Both versions feature ventilation, the lift-up roof with control panel, and the retractable rear partition allowing two crates to be combined.
Three capacities: 3, 4, or 6 crates
The choice of the number of compartments depends directly on the number of dogs transported:
- 3 crates: outer compartments of 170 x 126 x 110 cm; inside, two crates of 102 x 59 x 80 cm and one crate of 120 x 59 x 80 cm. Under-roof storage of 164 x 120 x 24 cm.
- 4 crates (1 or 2 axles): outer compartments of 220 x 126 x 110 cm; four individual crates of 105 x 59 x 80 cm. Under-roof storage of 214 x 120 x 24 cm.
- 6 crates: outer compartments of 300 x 126 x 116 cm; six crates of 96 x 59 x 80 cm. Under-roof storage of 294 x 120 x 24 cm.
The 4-crate version comes with one or two axles: the dual axle provides more stability and payload capacity for long trips and the heaviest loads.
How to choose
A few simple questions guide the choice:
- How many dogs? The number of crates is the first criterion: better to have a spare compartment than a cramped dog.
- What use? Intensive professional use (breeding, boarding, competition, working unit) justifies the Premium finish and its electrical autonomy; occasional use suits the Economy version very well.
- What trips? For long distances and intense heat, the Premium version's powerful ventilation and solar system really come into their own.
